The Aviation Bowl, played in Dayton, Ohio, has one of college football's briefest bowl histories. The first Aviation Bowl was played on December 9, 1961, and featured Western Michigan University against the University of New Mexico. The game was won, 28-12, by New Mexico, but attendance was so sparse at Welcome Stadium that the event was cancelled after just one year.

To commemorate this short-lived event, Retro U. has produced a ultra-hip vintage style t-shirt.
